WORDWEAVING
Wordweaving is key to Cognitive Hypnotherapists as it is the key to CHANGE on a subconscious level. Our behaviours including those which we wish we didn't do are a perfectly logical response, put in place when other options may not have been readily available. All behaviours are born with the intention of protecting us. Once we decipher the patterns of how a client's unwanted behaviour plays out, we can guide their unconscious attention towards those things which lead them to the future behaviour they desire. Through carefully designed suggestions, using words reflective of the client's model of their world, each client's tailor made therapy script helps to reshape their world permanently.

EVIDENCE BASED
We are the only hypnotherapy organisation and training school that has evidence-based research specific to our approach to therapy and whose inhouse-funded research project is listed with NICE in their research area.
Many hypnotherapy organisations pedal “evidence-based hypnotherapy” as a term that is either piggy-backing general research into the effectiveness of hypnosis, that is not specific to their own approach to therapy or they incorporate CBT as part of their approach and base their claims on CBT research results, again not their own specific approach.
Our therapy research was conducted by a team of QCHPA members using outcome measures that are standard within the NHS. It demonstrated our effectiveness (71%) for treatment of anxiety and depression is greater, compared with other talk therapies such as CBT 42% used within the NHS.

BLK BOX # WHO AM I

25 years working in the realm of education, you become atuned to noticing similarities in behaviour. Patterns form and looking back you can begin to join the dots. What may seem to us adults as insignificant childish incidents can in the mind and body of the child leave a lasting imprint. Marks made which form milestones which we set as our default. Our guidebook of how to stay safe for future reference.
Time and time again I meet students who find their young lives to be fraught with obstacles, where their thinking is getting in their way of their enjoyment of life. They've begun to get what they expect and are heading into adulthood without flexibility of mind and perspective, Learning WHY we do the things we do might just mean we can learn to accept and let go of unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and live the life of our choosing.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy makes so much sense to me in the understanding of myself and others both young and young at heart around me. Learning from Trevor how our thinking defines our reality, how our outdated defence mechanisms play out and more excitingly can be overwritten now as adults is like being given a key to a treasure box.
I hope to help many realise that they too hold the key to realising that nothing needs to stay as it is.
